It’s no secret that South Florida rappers like Kodak Black and XXXTentacion have dominated the Soundcloud circuit in recent years; however, another cohort of equally talented (and less controversial) MCs, including Wifisfuneral, Lil Pump and Ski Mask the Slump God, are making noise as well. Born and raised in Tampa, Big Baby Scumbag has been on the come-up since a handful of tracks surfaced last year, like the woozy trap of “Jelly” and the twinkling bounce of “Chirp Walk.” After performing a few dates in London with Baby last month, off-kilter comedian Zack Fox invites him on-air to give unsuspecting listeners a glimpse into Scumbag-world.
